We are looking at the text structures, and reading too. We are not taking notes. This week we are taking what we learned from the book and creating storytelling bags. The students are pretending they are Cherokee and have just finished the Trail of Tears. They have to create props to tell about their experiences. They will then write a short story. Everyone is slated to share on Friday afternoon, and their work will be showcased at our parent night next Monday! Wish me luck getting it done, they are so wired about the holidays. I had 3 kids who did nothing but giggle all day!

creating the scrolls. Are you primarily using this to teach text structures
or to actually read and notetake? Gina
