HM also sells itself as an all inclusive program.  One TE supposibly covers Reading/Writing/Grammar/Spelling/Vocabulary.  It is actually a complete READING series, with just a sliver of the other components.  The writing instruction is NOT good!  They also recommend that, for at least the first year, you work straight through the book, page by page.  In that case, the basal tends to drive the curriculum, instead of it being a resource.

might want to also pay attention to those features as you look at publishers.
