[MOSAIC] Question about partnering books

As I've already mentioned, my class will be reading Tuck Everlasting in January. I'd like to have some alternative reading ready for four of my students (3 boys and a girl) who are reading significantly below grade level (they're right at grade 2). I'd like something with a similar theme, but right now I'm brain dead. I'm hoping to find a few short chapter books with some illustrations.

  Does anyone have any ideas?

Is there a resource available online that can help with this?
