[MOSAIC] Books for 4th gr. Wish List

Hi Joy:  my students are completing an author study of books by Chris Van Allsburg.  They love his books and we are having deep discussions and thinking.  I am also reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCammilo (sp)--they love it and we've learned so many good vocabulary words which the kiddos are eagerly including in their wriiting. Because of Winn Dixie is great for character development and descriptive writing.  I read The Velvelteen Rabbit to them prior to ET.  I used to read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe every year, but am skipping this year cause of last year's movie release. Lastly, an older book I use every year is My Father's Dragon--author is Ruth G.--can't remember.

Hi everyone! Our school has asked all teachers to create a wish list of books 
for our classrooms. They can be prof. dev. books, but I'd rather have some 
classroom sets of books. I'm looking for essential texts for a fourth grade 
class, those books you can't do without.
