I have found, between this year and last year, that some books the kids love
to read twice. Like the Mystery of the Mary Celeste for example is so high
interest that the kids really wanted to hear it again. How Many Days to America
is also rich enough that I think a repeat works well. Other
texts...particularly some of the reproducible non-fiction is not as rich and doesn't hold up
as well to a reread.
So...I guess my answer is that I have reused a few texts and for other
lessons I am looking for new text...

have a question about the Comprehension Toolkit:

This is my second year using the lessons and texts from the toolkit. Last
year I was the only teacher in the school using it. This year, third
grade has caught onto it and the teachers are using the same lessons and
texts. I am really excited about this because I know next year they will
come to me with knowledge of the strategies and the vocabulary I already
use. However, I am worried that I will need to find different texts for
each lesson because they will have already read the texts in 3rd grade.
Do I have the correct outlook on this? Will the kids care? I have mixed
feelings about it and was hoping for any input and advice you have.

Thanks!
