[MOSAIC] grades

I try to take both kinds of grades-some are low because a student is really
not on grade level and their parents need to know this. Other grades
reflect progress and the effort and growth they are showing in class. Then
the one number report card grade-which is all we give-isn't usually an A and
it isn't an F. It works the other way also-the gifted reader who makes no
effort-he/she starts off high but isn't showing much effort or growth-they
don't fail but they don't make the A. I don't think the solution of the
best way to grade will ever be solved-but I really want to spend my time on
the best way to teach and try not to get too consumed with the grades. What
an adult might remember about being in my third grade class probably won't
be the grade they received in reading.
