[MOSAIC] synthesizing materials for staff development

Hi!  Does anyone have good ideas of materials to use for staff development
on the topic of Synthesizing?  I like to have the staff experience the
strategy before we discuss the elements involved in it and the ways it can
be applied, so it would be great if the materials were somewhat challenging
for adults.

Thanks for any ideas you might be willing to share.  Picture book ideas
would be welcome as well.  I used *Yellow Star*  by Carmen Agra Deedy for
 inferring and they really enjoyed finding the picture and text clues that
they used to infer.

I LOVE being on this listserve and appreciate all your help.  By the way, do
you all know about teachertube.com??!!
