A wonderful, funny reading series popular amongst students in grades 4 - 6
is the Hank Zipzer series. The books are written by Henry Winkler and he
has suffered with dyslexia all his life. His main character in the series
is a student named Hank Zipzer. You and your students will fall in love
with Hank. He is resourceful, funny and finds his own ways to be successful
because he finds learning challenging. This is a great series to use for
literature circles and reinforcement of all the MOT strategies. If is also
a series that boys seem to really enjoy reading. I can't tell you how many
boys said it was the first entire book they ever read. A good way to teach
about life, challenges and MOT strategies.
Have Fun!
