I would suggest that you emphasize the importance of modeling the roles for
students and teachers taking time to really teach these as well the
procedures when they introduce literature circles.  Teachers often make the
mistake of jumping into these without teaching these procedures and roles
then are disappointed when their literature circles aren't as effective as
they would want them to be.

I have been asked to run a one hour workshop for second grade teachers
on Literature Circles.  I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on
the best way to deliver this information, what should be on the agenda,
or the depth to take this. The teachers have varying levels of
experience.  I want to have them get as much out of this as possible, in
a short period of time.  Thoughts/suggestions from anyone that has
presented this type of workshop would be appreciated.
