Hi,
I don't know if you know of the website www.learning.org They have online classes that you can monitor on the internet. Each class is presented through video (free). You just have to register to view the classes. The only time have difficulty veiwing a video is when they are offering it for credit. I found the videos very helpful as a staff developer.
A few steps to follow to be successful - when you get to the website, click on workshop tab at the top. CLick on list of workshops and courses on the left. Choose the workshop you would like to view. You will get a webpage for that class, choose the portion of the course you would like to view. Then click on video button
Hope this helps.

There is a great resource called Using Guided Reading: to Strenghten Students' Reading Skills at the Emergent Level. It is a K-3 resource guide put out by BER, Bureau of Education & Research. www.ber.org
There is a video that accompanies the resource guide. This resource is actually a training session on guided reading. It covers conditions for guided reading success, what the rest of the class is doing, assessing student progress, etc. Plus, there are sample guided reading lessons on the video as well.
I hope this helps!

Subject: [MOSAIC] Guided Reading Webcasts or Videos
Hi All:
As we are working through our understanding of teaching comprehension, we are realizing that often times the kids can develop and articulate their understanding during read alouds and shared reading, but when they need to do this independently they are
still struggling because they can't access the text. Thus, our PLC is going to spend some time really exploring our guided reading in the hopes that we can improve on what we are doing in this area, which might help us move kids along. To this end, I
am hoping that people can forward me their best resources to help us prepare for our 1/2 day session in January. In particular, we are really hoping that we can find an excellent video or webcast of an early primary guided reading session.
Thanks for your help,
Michele
