I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that this listserv was
founded with the goal of providing educators a forum to discuss strategies
to "help students become strategic, thoughtful readers."
Neither Ginger nor I moderate any postings and so we trust the members to
keep topics focus on the improvement of literacy instruction. This list has
been an excellent example of professional sharing in this regard.
Please be very careful to keep political and religious tones out of your
conversations. I've seen both of these issues bring listservs to a
standstill while people flame on all sides.
Thanks for your help in this matter,
Keith Mack

I'm confused. What does contributing to a political party have to do with
reading programs?

SRA/McGraw-Hill's Open Court, Harcourt's Trophies, and Scott Foresman's
Reading Street are all huge donors to the Republican party.
You can draw your own conclusions.
