[MOSAIC] Vocabulary

Kim,

Several years ago I went to a Taberski workshop and took away this idea for 
vocabulary.  You might be able to modify it.

She suggested posting vocabulary words on the wall.  When my third graders 
came across the word in during silent reading, they would use a post-it to 
mark the page.  Then at the end of the day, I would call up as many students 
as I could and they would read the sentence that the vocabulary word was in, 
saying "MMM" for the vocabulary word and the rest of the class would then 
have to try to guess what the word was.  This way they would use the 
vocabulary in context.

Maybe your kindergarteners could do the same but only instead of reading 
from their silent reading books, they could read from their journals.  They 
might think of it as a game.
