Amy-

I understand you frustration and excitement for Reader's Workshop.  I am not
familiar with the reading program that you speak of, but my suggestion would be
to use your reading program with in the RW model.  There is a great book out
there called, The reading workshop revisited.  It is a great book telling in
short how to get things set up.  Our district is in the middle of a new reading
adoption, I would hate from them to mandate me to use it 100% of the time.  I
enjoy RW and teaching the LOVE of reading.  Personally I find that the more
kids read, the better they get, and the the better they do on TESTS.  I think
the administration overlooks this when they choose reading programs.
