Yes, quite a few.  I had only thought of new books since this would be an end-of-year gift.  I hadn't thought of buying slowly over the year, especially with my book order points, but this would probably work better.  Thanks for putting the idea in my head.

No used book stores in Calgary?  I go to flea markets, garage sales, used 
book stores, thrift stores, etc. and buy up books cheaply.  You might also 
try Scholastic and similar places online....they give bulk discounts so you 
can buy 25 or 30 brand new books for $2 or $3 each....
