Some good books were mentioned but my favorite:
Tale of Desperaux by Kate DiCamillo
I read it to fourth and fifth but it can be used from K to "who knows".

Or Because of Winn Dixie
Or Edward Tulane

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt

The titles are starting to flood...

Subject: [MOSAIC] Read Aloud Thanks

Thank you everyone, for all the read aloud ideas for my fifth grade
students. I look forward to reading them over the summer.
We are currently reading The Witch of Blackbird Pond and Ruby Holler. My
kids loved Seedfolks (me, too!)
It has been a year of adjustment, especially dealing with "switching".
But I sure love the rich conversations children this age can have about the
literature we read. Joy!
I have the children for Language Arts and Science, then my homeroom goes
next door to my friend and colleague for Math and Social Studies, while her
homeroom comes to me for their LA and Science. Somehow, I seem to have less
time. I am determined to do better with read alouds next year!
Thanks again!
