I have a boom box, and the jack extensions. But if you want to make your own recordings, you are out of luck. Frequently I need to record a book because a student wants to be part of a lit circle and needs the support to stay on track with their peers. My computers at school also do not have the capability to burn CDs.

Our school is purchasing listening stations that are basically boom
boxes with a jack that allows 8 headphones. You can purchase the
jacks separately if you already have a boom box. Don't give up hope
just yet!

How children learn is as important as what they learn: process and content go hand in hand. http://www.responsiveclassroom.org
