[MOSAIC] Strategies for Reading Comprehension

Any ideas for helping  primary children identify the main idea and how  to 
summarize.  I have used a shoebox with items in it.  Once children  see the 
items, they have to state the topic (buttons) and the main idea (buttons  come in 
all sizes and colors)   Details  (some buttons have three  openings, some two 
etc.)
