Our school system does encourage using blogs, and I do use this with my
Reading class. Blogs are another way to communicate with parents and
students. Blogs are accessed through our school's web page. Teaches post
information such as homework assignments, class work, announcements,
current events, ect. If a student missed a day of school or just forgets
what their assignment was, then they can find out by checking the blog.
And any student or parent that has access to a computer with internet
can visit this site to obtain the given information. Unfortunately not
everyone has a computer with internet access. As for wikis, I am not
sure what this is either. I would like to know.

I am currently a graduate student in education and am just learning
about
blogs and wikis. I was wondering if any of you have used these devices
in your
classroom. If so, how do you use them and what impact do you think
they
have had on your students? Are these useful tools for the classroom?
I would
love to hear from someone who is currently using these. Thanks
