[MOSAIC] Comprehension in general

Lori,
Perhaps I wasn't clear. I help them negotiate the rules for conversation. They are making the rules, I'm asking them "what if . . . ?" Once the rules are established, they pretty much talk with each other, especially during and after lit. circles. There are times when I have to give directions, answer questions, etc.

Most of the time when I am getting involved it is to guide someone who has gone astray. For example, if a kid is off topic and the others can't get them back. if a kid says something out of line, if a kid wants to reveal something that should not be aired in class without negotiation (death, abuse of any kind, neglect, cirmes).
