[MOSAIC] Carbo Recorded Books

We have these "as a resource," and in three years at this school, I've used them a handful of times. They aren't bad for a struggling reader, but they're very dependent on your ability to oversee the student using them.
There may be a new & improved version out, but what we have consists of recorded stories (very short recordings), blackline masters of the stories, and some little games to photocopy. Perhaps once you get everything copied, it would be easier to use, but I felt like I was spending three times as much energy in preparing them as the students were using them. We did use them as home support for one ELL student, and I believe her teacher saw some growth.
Hope that helps -
Sarah

Subject: [MOSAIC] Carbo Recorded Books
Hi all,
My district is investing in Marie Carbo's Recorded Books. Has anyone had
experience with these, and if so, what do you think?
Thanks,
Colleen
