[MOSAIC] assessment

Hi - 
 
I guess I have a few separate questions for the group concerning  reading 
assessment.  First, how do you assess reading comprehension  and your students' 
strategy use?  
 
My school is currently taking a look at how we assess overall reading  
comprehension and the students' use of the comprehension strategies.  We  have been 
charged with creating common assessments that will given by each Lang.  Arts 
teacher (to each student) across the grade level.  Therefore, my  second 
question is: does anyone's school have anything like this?  
 
Thirdly, does anyone have any ideas for how this could look at the 5th  grade 
level?  
 
We've begun brainstorming, but I am looking for some fresh  ideas.  I'd love 
to hear how you measure your students' overall  comprehension and strategy 
use.
