Lori,
I AGREE 100%. What tickles the brain of a first grader and a fourth grader  
are far different.... even if comprehension is in place. I see some of my 
team's  first graders reading books that I used as a read aloud for much older 
kids.  Nothing drives this home for me as when my top student said, "Not only does 
dr.  Seuss tickle my brain but it tickles the brains of all my friends. I 
want to  talk about books that we can all talk about together... not ones that I 
have to  talk to you about or my dad about..... "
