[MOSAIC] Question for Tim about songs

Joy,
I'm not Tim, but I have used this strategy a lot in kindergarten. There are 
lots of song tapes out there. Just this last week, I read three versions of 
"I Know an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly." Then we sang the Dr. Jean version 
of the song with the CD. We made  a little old woman and the animals and we 
sang the song and recited the verses orally over and over as we acted  out 
the story with the story figures. We did all the things you mentioned (I use 
a lot of my music for Morning Meetings).

We have a guy who comes to our school and sells "Books are Fun" books. I 
have bought several CDs from him. One CD is one with patriotic songs, which 
I used in second grade and with some third graders for after school 
programs.

You candcollect songs you download from  internet sites. Just start thinking 
about and looking for songs that go with stories and themes that you teach. 
There's a lot out there!
