[MOSAIC] Looking forward to next year

I haven't been a part of this mailring in a very long time. My loss!
I have misplaced my 1st MOT book but I ordered the new one this week.  I 
should be getting it next week.  I will be teaching 2nd or 3rd grade next 
year after being out of the classroom for 3 years working on test scores. I 
have just finished up DIBELS testing the intervention students in my 
building.  I was actually happy with their progress. I had some good fluent 
readers in third grade but they still ended up being AT RISK.  However their 
NWEA Map scores showed a gain and I was thrilled.  It seems that a lot of 
them are just now ready to be doing what they should have been doing at the 
first of the year.  We do not have a summer program for them to attend. I 
plan on making  lots of phones calls during the summer to make sure they are 
reading.

I used a poetry folder the last time I taught in a classroom.  I thought is 
was a wonderful way for my students to learn to read poetry. It was one of 
my favorite weekly (daily) lessons.  I'm glad to see that is was a good 
thing. It was great for their independent reading and yes it did improve 
their fluency.  Now, I am thinking I should get with the music teacher next 
year and have the songs they are singing in music also on a chart in the 
room. We also did a lot of readers theatre.  I am excited about going back 
to the classroom. I am really looking forward to learning from all or you.
