Keith makes a really good point here. We now know they can't do that (WWC).

I suspect your administrators will still require you to prove it with at least some state scores. So, you are welcome to use the data from our school. Our school does not have a basal or "core" reading program. We haven't done anything very impressive using any of the current buzz words. We don't have any "maps" or elaborate "vertical articulattion."  We fight regularly to keep all the little assessment pieces outside our doors. All our classrooms use the workshop approach for reading. We are Pre-k to grade 8.  In 2006 grades 3-5  reached a level of proficiency to be labeled a "highly effective" school in the state of Illinois. 

So, again, I agree with Keith:
nothing improves

>2. Talking About Good Books

That's what kids do in our workshops.
