[MOSAIC] vocabulary

Jennifer,
I am doing the same thing you are and I too am finding it difficult to
assess.  I would appreciate any help I can get before I go out and attempt
to "reinvent the wheel."

BTW My kids love looking for new words.  They are so proud of the words they
are learning and using.

I started using the lessons in  Nancy 
Akhavan's (sp???) book that somebody on this list recommended over the
summer 
and love it...but I am struggling with assessing student vocabulary  growth
in 
order to know if the lessons are working.
Any one have some rubrics or other ideas for assessing vocab growth?
