Amy and Elisa,
  Thanks. I'd never heard of him before, either. I respect the opinions of our members. I have a friend who teaches at UConn, but she's in the Foreign Language Dept, and hasn't heard of him!
   
  I guess what I want to know is if he's more of a whole language or phonics guy. Maybe it doesn't matter since the kind of reading he will be talking about is more for older students. 
   
  Sigh, you have no idea what's involved in planning for a sub at my school.
