I was surprised at how difficult it was for me to think of good examples and
I use picture books quite a bit, even in sixth grade. I can think of lots
of novels. Perhaps 32 pages just isn't enough to take a character through a
meaningful change.

Thunder Cake...but do we really know that she is no longer afraid of
thunderstorms?
Sweetest Fig by Van Allsburg...the change is rather dramatic, but well
deserved. (-:
