There are excellent resources on the Internet for this book. Reluctant
readers are usually hooked after the plan emergency............ also, this
book is on tape ......very well done. I usually have kids listen (follow)
along to the first 3 chapters............I haven't found any student yet
that wasn't hooked after hearing a taped presentation. Most libraries have
this taped version. After completing Hatchet, I do a compare and
contrast author study beginning with the book *My Side of the Mountain - *Jean
Craighead George........
