I was wondering the same thing...maybe a course
working with gifted?
Choice is key, especially when working with advanced
kids. What does this child like? Other than that, I
have just begun introducing my slightly above level
readers to chapter books. You will need to understand
what level of support your student needs from the text
you choose (e.g. chapter titles, shorter chapters,
etc.). "Beyond Leveled Books" by Sibberson &
Szymusiak (?) is a great resource for this.
Good luck! Oh, and if you need below level kids to
tutor, feel free to come to my 2nd grade...I seem to
have an abundance this year!
