-\ are the mentor texts and lessons geared mostly to non-fiction?
 
The upper grade Toolkit has quite a bit of nonfiction, but it also uses historical fiction.  There aren't enough lessons to teach an entire year, so there is plenty of space for you to use the strategies taught with fiction.  I found it a wonderful resource that I pull from every few weeks, but do not use it by itself.
