[MOSAIC] Centers/Literacy Stations--

Thank you all who responded to my query regarding Centers and Literacy
Stations,
especially Melissa and Beverly.  I have ordered the Daily Five and am
looking forward
to reading it with new eyes.

 My 'fear' of returning to centers stems from a view that kids were
doing 'busy work' while I was trying to work with a group.  At least that is
how I saw
these centers in the past and was glad to see them go!!

  I feel , after 30 years in the professions, that I have come a long way
 since those days. I didn';t want to think I was going back to more of the
same.  You know how
the pendulum swings in education.  Saying that, I certainly believe that
kids learn from each other.
The conversations that occur in my classes between all learners  is
something
I am proud of.

I believe that all I have learned from this list-serve, and realwriting
teachers, has given
me a new energy to do what is right for my kids.
