So Long Ago
30 04 2008Ting!
The ball zipped right to me.
What to do with it?
What to do with it?
Turned to first base,
Then to second.
What to do with it?
What to do with it?
Turned to third base,
Then to home.
Threw the ball,
Covered my eyes.
Out!
That was so long ago, in T-ball.
Now I throw it to second,
One out…
They throw it to first,
Another out…
Double play!
I’ve come a long way.

Kara,
This is fabulous! I am going to share it with one of the girls in our All girl ELA class who wrote one about softball. Check it out under “Wasserman’s Poetry Whizzes.” Ms. W. Andrews Middle School
I like the way you used repatition. It was very good and I also liked the way you used a topic from the past.
Dear Kara,
I really enjoyed reading this poem. I loved how it didn’t rhyme. Not all poems should. Keep up the work. I liked how the poem is related to baseball. i liked how you talked about the same situation in two remote times. Great poem!!
