Winter Memory
30 04 2008Bright stars in a clear sky,
Fireplace crackling,
Snuggled on the couch,
My sister and I,
Wrapped in a blanket,
Listening to Dad’s stories
of when he was a kid.

This simple poem takes me back to my early childhood memories. Great job!
Dear Gina,
That is really wonderful. It doesn’t rhyme or repeat or anything like that but it flows magnificently. It just makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. It is beautiful!

Dear Gina,
The title “Winter Memory” is very basic but then you add a great poem to that title and it makes the title stand out. You don’t have to get all fancy when it is just a winter memory and you showed that great job! 3 things I enjoyed about this poem were, your word choice, for instance “Fireplace crackling, Snuggled on the couch”, you used lines that make a lot of sense and can paint a clear picture in anyone’s mind, another thing I enjoyed about this poem was how you brought your family into your memory I think they would love to know that!
Suggestion: the poem was great yet I know that you can go further so maybe write an extended poem of this poem and add more I would love to read it!!!!!!!!! Great job

Dear Gina,
I really enjoyed your poem. Another poem written really greatly. I also really enjoyed you other poem “Saturday Morning”. Like I said you use very good words and great deatils which makes the poem stand out. The title “Winter Memory” seems as if the poem is going to be simple and not that great, but when you read the poem you just think, that wow!!!! Then the title makes the words stand out, and the title seems as if something grand and unique. The thing that I really enjoyed about your poem is the deatils, their so good that I actually got a picture in my head of you sitting on the couch!!
