Stone of Sorrows
May 21st, 2009
Marking the ones who left behind
The sorrow of their lives,
I eternally sit.
Destined to never move, but
To immortalize the fallen,
And their souls.
I am called upon.
You, and many others
rest your sorrows on top of me,
In the disguise of flowers-
With a dew of tears.
Forever tended, polished,
Forever needed, wanted,
Never do I leave
The one I was created for.

Dear Kai,
Wow, you are truly a poet. The tone of your poem befitted the topic and your word choice was outstanding. The repetition of “forever” in the last stanza was very effective. Amazing.

This was a beautiful poem. I loved the mood. I like the title of The Sorrow Stone. Good work

Dear Kai Redfern,
Your poem, “Stone of Sorrows,” was great! When I first read it, I really didn’t know what the riddle was, you made it very challenging, and that was something that I really liked. Another thing that I liked was, the title. I really thought that the title was clever! And I think that if it wasn’t for the title, I don’t know if I would have guessed your riddle – a gravestone! Lastly, when you wrote, “In the disguise of flowers- With a dew of tears.” When you wrote this, it was really descriptive, and it gave me a really good picture in my mind. Great Poem!
