Terrified
Cole waited,
had the bear returned
to kill him?
As he waited the storm worsened
wind picking up
gusting harder
rain fell
ATSSS

Never in his
life had he felt
so exposed–
so vulnerable–
so helpless–
Fighting to survive
he could stay here
a short
while longer.
He clenched his teeth
against pain
and despair.
Acid electrical smell
burned his nose.
Then.
Once more
he lost consciousness.

Cole lay frozen,
by fear.
A sobbering power,
had attacked the,
earth.
This power,
made the bear’s attack,
seem gentle.
“No more!
No more!” he moaned.
“Please,
no more!”

Cole saw it,
ghostlike.
Barely 50 feet away,
the GIANT BEAR,
stood,
motionless,
in the rain…
