Fun

Let the summer begin,
school is out soon and I am
ready
To hit the shore, swim, and skim.
Play manhunt at night.
Run on the tar then grass and then more tar.
And get in trouble by the annoying neighbors,
that we are staying up too late.
We stay up anyway.
With friends I only
see
in the
summer.
Always memories from the hot summer are fresh in my
mind when school starts in the
fall.
Never let’s you forget times of
childhood.

Let the fun begin!

As Simple As Pushing One From The Stairs

May 29th, 2008

Mutter
Crawl
Walk
Fall!
A stair I climb, but yet I’m only am on the first step.
Talk
Sprint
Play
Hint!
A second step fades into my peripheral vision.
Run
Friends
Swing
Ends!
My third foot shakily slides onto the third.
Laugh
Pride
Smirk
Hide!
I smile as I step onto the fourth, energy bursting from my soul.
Love
Hate
Death
Fate!
I slid from the fifth step, and fall back to none.
But after someone reaches the first step…
How many people does it take to rip a life asunder?
One…

The Master and the Servant

May 29th, 2008

A man came into power
He accumulated wealth
He then hired a servant
To watch his house and health.

The servant did his job
And then demanded pay.
“I would like my money, sir,
Or I’ll leave the next day”

The master was perplexed
You see, he’d never hired help before
He let the servant pick his wage
Who thought to himself “Score!”

The servant asked his pay
And bled his master dry
And guess who was ruling the house the next day,
As rich as that Bill Gates guy?

The old servant decided
That he would need some help
Maintaining this big old home
With walls as green as kelp.

He picked an advert in the news
It said expert work provided
To keep away the unorganized blues
And to keep laundry divided.

When the old servant’s servant
Came to the house to call,
It was the former master,
Now not standing too tall.

What is the moral of this story,
Is a question you may ask.
Well, the answer’s simple:
Keep a fixed-rate for a house-hold task!

Ode to a Sandwich

May 29th, 2008

A sandwich, a sandwich
With all the lunch meats and cheeses,
Salami, ham, turkey, chicken,
And the finest vegetables.
Add your favorite condiments,
For me mustard and mayo,
Top with any cheese,
A pickle, some lettuce, tomatoes.
Add any meat,
Then cover up with bread,
I want mine on rye,
Then slice into squares, or triangles too,
Whatever you would like,
Just make sure it is precise.
Have a cold glass of milk,
And maybe some chips,
Just make sure,
You enjoy your craftsmanship.

Stem Cell Research

May 29th, 2008

The beginning cells of a human life
Sacrificed for the good of mankind
Carefully sliced open with a surgical knife
To find the potential within.

Must be the controversial stem cell research
Who some think kills possible humans
These are the beliefs of the Catholic church
Because they think that this is not what God wants.

But still others think that continuing research is best
Because there may be a cure for cancer
Which would cure adults, children, and all the rest
Ridding the world of a killer disease.

Scientists need to know what signals turn genes off and on
So they can influence the differentiation of stem cells
Which will cause sickness and disease to be long gone
And the population of earth to boom.

But what exactly are these stem cells
The tiny building blocks of life
With three main layers: the trophoblast which is the outer shell
The blastocoel which is a fluid filled cavity, and the inner cell mass is the third.

Look for more to come
From these small unspecialized cells
Such as cell therapy and medication testing, just to name some
The successes of research simply outweigh the downfalls.

Ode to a Pizza: Reborn

May 29th, 2008

Pizza, you are so delicious
But not necessarily nutritious.
Your dough warms up my empty stomach
Satisfying the growling within.
You are lathered in tangy tomato sauce
Which dirties my lips and face.
The shreds of cheese are a blanket of flavor
Melting together to make you look like a gold medal.
Spicy pepperoni sit atop this masterpiece
Making the final product perfect
With a medley of taste and color
Pizza, you make a scrumptious meal.

The Man Who Swallowed a Fish

May 29th, 2008

Happened when he was swimming
A brown scaled fish
Was sucked down his throat
And was gone, forever.

The man looked confused,
Coughed up a tiny fin,
The change was gradual.

However when we saw him the next time
Again in the murky ocean water
He was a completely different person.

His eyes spread to the side of his head
His fingers were merged like paddles
And scars decorated his seasoned and wise face.

But he was irritated in some way…
His voice seemed distant and like an echo as he spoke:

Once I swallowed a fish
At first I felt as if I was chained down to the ocean
But now my skin twitches like scales as I touch the water.

I seem to now enjoy it here.

Peace

May 29th, 2008 Tagged , , , , , ,

A golden drop of dew,
on a silver cloud.

Peace

A pure white lily
in a feild of dandylions.

Peace

A calm light dove,
in a sky of wretched seagulls.

Peace

A bright twinkling star
in the midnight sky.

Peace

A lonely stray kitten
with sparkeling blue eyes.

Peace

A little careing child
giving you a bouquet of flowers.

You, someone with a kind heart
reaching out to others.

Peace

A Touch Of Kindness

May 29th, 2008

Where
Can you find kindness?
I say, in the hand of a helpful mother,
You can find kindness.
In the eyes of a loyal friend,
You can find kindness.
In the calm voice of a grandfather,
You can find kindness.

How
Can you show kindness?
I say, by giving a valentine to the one you love,
You can show kindness.
By listening to others,
You can show kindness.
By giving a flower to a good friend,
You can show kindness.

What Is Kindness?
A
Touch of love.
A
Pinch of joy.
A
Bit of thoughtfulness.
A
Taste of trust.
A
Place where you feel safe.

That
Is
Kindness!
