Gymnastics-It’s Life

May 27th, 2009 by sttlf1926

It’s the passion, the beauty, and the grace
That make your heart race.
You know it’s true when your coaches and teammates pull you through.
As you get older and the competition gets tough,
Drama gets rough, and life is a mess,
Gymnastics is there to clean up the PMS.
Trying new skills
And doing giant drills
Make you forget you need the pain pills.
The friendships are forever and never seem to fail
At the times you need to bail gymnastics is there.
When a coach isn’t there you want to say finally a break
And just sit and stare.
But as you fall flat on your face while spiriting towards the vault
Gymnastics gives you the confidence to get up
And laugh it off.

Honesty

May 19th, 2009 by sttlf1926

Honesty,
You come and go as the day goes on,
When I want to tell you just go away.
And whenever I don’t want to get into trouble you come out.
Like a black man back in the old days
Getting punished instead of the white man
You just leave me to get tortured
But I do have a good feeling that I did the right thing.

Not Just Some Game

May 18th, 2009 by sttlf1926

Stepping onto the soft dirt field
Putting my bat bag on the fence
Removing my mitt and my mask
Running to the grass
Standing and waiting
Then she throws the pitch
And the sound of the loud bat cracks
And I start to twitch
The ball flies in the air
Dropping ever so slightly
Putting my mitt over my right shoulder
Wanting to surrender
I feel it fall
And my hand begins to sting
But I pull the ball out quickly
And go on to the next inning

Softball is life
It is hard and rough
And not always fun
But this year I have realized one thing
Softball is life
Not just some game

Waiting for the windup
Stepping up to the plate
I swing my bat
But I know I’m late
Waiting for the next pitch
Hoping it will be a strike
I swing again
But my first two swings seemed to look alike

I’ve got one more chance
I can feel that my 3rd will be a hit
Coming down the middle I swing
I don’t hear it hit a mitt
Going out to the grass
Flying far
Waiting for it to drop
But it seems it will just never stop
Softball is life
It is hard and rough
And not always fun
But this year I have realized one thing
Softball is life
Not just some game

Ending the game with a score of 7 to 9
I had so much fun
And I did just fine
I’m happy I get to play tomorrow
Because I will do even better
The score will be even higher
Because we are playing the Fire

Softball is life
It is hard and rough
And not always fun
But this year I have realized one thing
Softball is life
Not just some game

To whom it concerns:

May 18th, 2009 by sttlf1926

To whom it concerns:
I may not be well liked,
By the students anyway,
The teachers like me,
But is that O.K.?

To whom it concerns:
I have friends at other schools,
And they aren’t strange,
But it’s not that I’m strange.
The world cares about all it has to,
I’m in that circle,
And so are my friends,
At both schools,
We fight and fight,
But later realize,
That we are the best of friends.
Isn’t that O.K.?

To whom it concerns:
I like T.V.
Maybe too much,
I’m my own definition of Techno Geek,
Because I love video games and all,
Even the computer,
I read and write all the time,
And I may watch weird shows,
That’s all I am.
But trust me,
I’m as happy as can be.

Love, I see you

May 18th, 2009 by sttlf1926

Love,
I see you everywhere,
Even when you don’t show yourself,
I know you’re always there,
I always feel loved
When I am in her arms,
My love melts to her,
Like chocolate on a strawberry.
My love for her,
Will never grow old,
The love we share,
Is just so bold.
But sometimes I wonder…
Does she love me?

Their once was a guy named Jaec
He liked to play games like chase
He hated to lose
He wouldn’t wear shoes
He always lost every race.

Sadness, you’re holding me

May 15th, 2009 by sttlf1926

You’re holding me against my will like a dog on a leash,
Destroying everyone on the way,
My mom and dad vanished,
Vanished into the darkness.
The sun has disappeared,
Under the dark clouds,
There’s not a single sound,
The world is coming to an end,
All of mankind has vanished,
Vanished into the darkness.

Faith

May 15th, 2009 by sttlf1926

Faith.
I always had it in you,
Now it seems to have faded,
You have a new family,
Guess I’m not important,
Waiting and waiting by the phone when I was five,
But now I just don’t have the time.
You called three times,
You just forgot to call back.
Yeah, it’s a shame,
But I’m not the one to blame,
It’s your fault and your choice,
For it to be this way.
Telling lies is your only profession,
That must give me a bit of suspicion.
I know Faith
Is complete confidence in a person or plan,
I don’t ask anything of you,
Yet I feel I’m asking too much.
I’m completely exhausted and out of breath,
By trying to keep just a bit of my faith.
So,
It’s all in your lonely,
Empty,
Devious,
Cold-hearted hands.

Love, why do you hide?

May 15th, 2009 by sttlf1926

Love,
Why do you hide?
Or is it that you’re pushed aside?
I know that you’re here.
I see you here.
And I feel you everywhere.
So don’t be afraid.
Of the ones who will push you away.
Don’t hide from those who need you the most.
I think that it’s the people who are scared.
They’re scared to feel you every day.
And I think that they are scared to see you every day.
So show yourself.
Find them within.
And bring out the good in every way.

Anger you are

May 15th, 2009 by sttlf1926

Anger,
You are like a boxer,
You pace around with your fists balled up,
You sit furiously waiting for someone to say something to your face,
Like how you’re fat or you have no friends,
You always want to hit someone,
You always come out when I don’t want you to,
You stomp around cursing and shouting,
You go off on people who just want to talk.
